It’s the holiday season, and that means everyone will be decorating their homes and making holiday oriented improvements as a way of expressing their personal sense of style and cheer. Whether it’s a home remodel, kitchen remodel, redecorating your interior with holiday home décor, or simply decorating, there are some definite trends that are setting in homes in and around San Diego county. Here’s a list of our favorites.
Adding fresh flowers and greenery to your home is a great way to add warmth and holiday cheer to your abode. Not only will it add some much needed ambiance to your space, but it will be something that is seasonal in nature, so you won’t be tempted to just keep it up all year.
If you’ve got a nice sense of style and décor already set in your home, you really don’t want to completely redo it, or overshadow it with too many holiday decorations. A good way to give your home a nice holiday feeling while staying true to your own sense of style is by adding in layers of warmth to your home this year. Subtle touches of holiday touches and the addition of holiday hues such as forest green and burgundy are great ways to add a bit of holiday spirit to your home without making it look like the holidays exploded all over it. That can be a bit overwhelming for not only you, but your neighbors and guests. Keeping it light and simple is OK.
If you’d like to really make a statement in your foyer, dining room or living room, try adding a fabulously glitzy chandelier or lighting piece that really sets the holiday mood. This is a renovation that takes a bit of a commitment, but it can really make a statement when you throw the holiday party of the year or have your extended family over to celebrate. You may want to hire a San Diego Remodeler or San Diego Home Builder to help.
If you’d like to make a statement without as much commitment as adding a new light fixture to your home, try dazzling it up with a nice holiday mirror. Something that is sparkly, gold, silver or just fabulously designed in the holiday spirit is a great way to add depth and cheer to your space while you celebrate this year.
For those of you who do want to commit to something more permanent for you banquet room, foyer or living space to get into the holiday spirit, you can always add a splash of holiday colored paint to your wall. It doesn’t have to be each and every wall in the room either. You could simple paint one wall in holiday fashion to add a pop of holiday spirit to your room.
